Buxar: Two died and one was referred to Patna hospital in critical condition after four youths who had gone fishing at Buxar’s Ramrekha Ghat drowned in the Ganga on Sunday afternoon. On receiving information, Town police rushed to the spot and, with the help of local divers, pulled them out of the river. All four were taken to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared two brought dead, referred one to Patna for better treatment and discharged the fourth after administering first aid.According to police sources, the deceased were identified as Sanju (40) and Mahavir (20). The injured are Akash Kumar (18) and Suraj Kumar (17).The four had gone to the ghat for fishing when three of them got trapped beneath the ghat stairs and began drowning in deep water. Suraj, who attempted to rescue his friends, also swallowed water during the effort. Bystanders immediately alerted the Town police station.Police shifted all the four people to hospital. After examination, doctors declared Sanju and Mahavir brought dead. Akash, stated to be in a critical condition, was referred to Patna, while Suraj was discharged after first aid.Police have taken custody of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. Further legal action is underway, said the SHO of Town police station.
