Mulugu: Two persons were killed after being hit by a truck under the Mulugu police station limits on Sunday night. After the accident, the truck driver allegedly fled towards Jakaram village, where the vehicle collided with another truck.The deceased were identified as K Samarao, a resident of Prem Nagar in Mulugu, and G Suresh, a resident of Katakshapur village in Hanumakonda district. They were working as security guards at a brick manufacturing unit in Mallampally village.According to the Mulugu police, Samarao and Suresh went to a liquor shop for buying alcohol. When they were returning to their unit by walk, the truck going towards Eturunagaram from Hanumakonda hit them, killing them on the spot. After reaching Jakaram village, the speeding truck collided with another truck, leaving its driver Kondal severely injured. Villagers informed the Mulugu police, who rushed to the spot, and shifted the driver to Mulugu govt hospital for treatment.Mulugu circle inspector D Suresh stated that they collected the driver’s blood samples and sent them for testing. Based on the result, it can be determined if he had consumed alcohol or not, the CI added. A case has been registered and the bodies have been shifted to Mulugu government hospital for postmortem, said Suresh.
