Nagpur: A 17-year-old girl admitted at the Govt Girls’ Hostel on Katol Road went missing after leaving Mayo Hospital without informing anyone on Thursday. The hostel staff later filed a police complaint.She was later tracked down at her mother’s place at Jalalkheda.An employee of the hostel told police that the girl was admitted to the hostel on Aug 27 as her parents were not ready to accept her. The girl was at the shelter home in Wardha after being rescued from her male friend. She was later transferred to Nagpur from Wardha. The girl was reluctant to stay at the shelter home and consumed some poisonous liquid, said a source. She was then taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment.On Aug 28, between about 6.15 am and 9.30 am, the girl left the hospital premises on her own. The authorities searched the hospital and nearby areas including Durga Mata Chowk and Paradise Colony, and other spots but could not find her.A complaint was registered and a case booked under relevant sections of BNS for kidnapping. Police sources said search teams were pressed into service and inquiries were done to establish whether the minor left of her own will or if any other angle is involved. Further details of her background and her native village in Nagpur rural are being verified.
