GURGAON: A salon worker was arrested for allegedly raping his 17-year-old colleague at her house. Both worked at a salon located in Sector 42 near Cyber City.According to police, the accused, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, spent weeks trying to gain the girl’s confidence. On March 12, when she was alone at home, he entered her house on the pretext of repairing her broken mobile phone and, taking advantage of the situation, he allegedly sexually assaulted her and fled later on.The girl confided in the salon operator and informed her of the assault.The salon operator then found that the accused had allegedly harassed multiple female employees at the salon previously, following which she filed a complaint at the Sushant Lok police station, alleging that the man was a habitual offender.He was arrested in the city late Wednesday night. Two live cartridges were also found in his possession.An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS. He was produced in court on Thursday and was sent to a two-day police remand.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
