Panchkula: In a major crackdown on unauthorised colonies, the district town planner (DTP) department Friday demolished 16 DPC (damp proof course) structures and dismantled internal road networks in three illegal colonies across Panchkula district.The drive targeted unauthorised developments in Charniyan, Kona and Lahrondi villages. Officials demolished four DPC structures in Charniyan, nine in Kona and three in Lahrondi. Road networks and site markings created to facilitate the colonies were also removed using JCB machines to prevent further illegal development.The operation was carried out under the guidance of deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma and DTP Babita Gupta, with a heavy police presence to maintain law and order.Gupta said the department would continue taking strict action against illegal colonies and constructions.
