Bhubaneswar: Fourteen Odia workers affected by the ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing unit in Tamil Nadu continue to undergo treatment at four hospitals, with one patient remaining in critical condition, the Odisha labour department said on Thursday.State labour commissioner Indramani Tripathy informed that nine of the injured workers are in stable condition, four are on oxygen support and one is on ventilator support.The patients are admitted to four hospitals in Tamil Nadu. Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai is treating eight patients, while three are admitted to Vels Hospital, two to Venkateswaraa Hospital and one to Stanley Hospital.Affected worker Sima Juanga, who is undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital remains on ventilator support and is in critical condition. The incident has so far claimed 14 Odia lives, most of them workers from Keonjhar district.Tripathy said the state government has been closely monitoring the condition of the injured workers and is coordinating with the Tamil Nadu govt to ensure their treatment and other necessary assistance.
