Mangaluru: King’s Chess Academy Mangaluru will organise the 13th KCA Trophy, an All-India one-day open FIDE rating chess tournament 2026, at Sri Mariyamma Sabha Bhavan in Urwa on Aug 16.Praveen Kamath, convener of the academy, told reporters on Tuesday, that the event will be a rapid tournament and around 500 players from across India are expected to take part. The event offers FIDE-rated players and emerging talents a national stage to showcase their skills. Featuring both age-group and open category competitions, the tournament offers a total prize pool of Rs 1 lakh and 153 trophies for top performers, he said.The competitions will be held in various categories, including U-7 boys and girls, U-9 boys and girls, U-11 boys and girls, U-13 boys and girls, U-16 boys and girls, open and best veteran (50 years and above) categories, he added.
