Vadodara: A 13-year-old girl from Bharuch was successfully treated at SSG Hospital after accidentally swallowing a metal pin at her residence on Sunday evening.The girl was brought to the hospital around 6pm on March 23 with complaints of having swallowed a foreign object. Doctors conducted an X-ray, which revealed that the metal pin was lodged in the subglottic region of her airway.She was immediately admitted under the ENT department. A team of doctors performed a videolaryngoscopy and successfully removed the metal pin under general anaesthesia.Following the procedure, the patient was shifted to the recovery room and kept under observation. Hospital authorities said she is stable, maintaining an oxygen saturation level of 98% on room air, with no signs of pain, bleeding or respiratory distress.Doctors said timely medical intervention helped avert a potentially life-threatening situation.
