Prayagraj: Attarsuiya police on Tuesday seized 11,037 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup, a large stock of intravenous (IV) drugs and medicines, including 925 buprenorphine injections, 35,520 Semplx-acetaminophen capsules, over 1.61 lakh ALFA tablets, 24,000 B-STL injections, a DDI mini grinder, tools, a cheque book, bank statements, a PAN card and an Aadhaar card from a house near Kalyani Devi area.Police said the illegal stockpile was unearthed during a raid. Officials of the drug department were also informed.A drug department official said the seized medicines were not authorised for sale, storage or purchase and could only be prescribed to patients under a doctor’s supervision.Following the seizure, police registered a case under Sections 8, 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act. Cops are searching for one Aruni, who allegedly stored the contraband in a room in Gujarati Mohalla locality.
