Canacona: Govt on Wednesday ordered demolition of illegal structures in the coastal regulation zone in Agonda village following a complaint by a private entity.The district collector’s office carried out the drive under police presence. Most units, mainly restaurants and cafes, were declared illegal by GCZMA. Officials ordered to remove 11 structures and restore the land. Demolitions will resume Friday.A senior officer said after the operators were issued notices, some dismantled the structures themselves, but some went to court and got a stay.
