Bengaluru: A Ramanagara court Monday granted anticipatory bail to 11 farmers, against whom criminal cases were booked during a protest against the proposed Bidadi Township on July 13.The booked farmers, including a few women, were allegedly part of the mob that attacked some Joint Measurement Committee officials with a broom at Mandalahalli when the latter came for a survey, and also damaged their two multi-utility vehicles.Two FIRs were registered in connection with the violence: one for attacking JMC officials and another for targeting police, who tried to stop the protesters. The sections booked against the farmers included acts such as criminal intimidation, unlawful assembly, voluntarily causing hurt and obstructing govt officials from discharging duty, etc.
