Patna: Over 10,882 candidates were offered employment during the three-day ‘State-level Health and Allied Sectors Employment Fair 2026’, which concluded here at Gyan Bhawan on Wednesday. The fair, organised by the Bihar Skill Development Mission under the department of youth, employment and skill development.On the final day alone, 3,446 candidates were selected, including 2,533 men and 913 women. Additionally, 1,984 participants were shortlisted for overseas employment opportunities in countries such as Germany, Japan, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. Several leading healthcare institutions actively participated in the fair, including Jayprabha Medanta Superspeciality Hospital, Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, Mediversal, Ruban Hospital, Srijan Hospital, Pancardia, Panacea, and Medimix Healthcare.The most notable placements came from Jayprabha Medanta Superspeciality Hospital, which offered Dr Krishna (medicine specialist) and Dr Shatakshi (critical care specialist) annual packages of Rs18 lakh each. Other significant offers included Aparna Kumari being selected as human resource by Hekam India Pvt Ltd with a monthly salary of around Rs88,000, while Mahesh Kumar and Prince Kumar received GDA/nursing positions in Delhi-NCR at Rs45,000 per month.At the closing ceremony, minister Arun Shankar Prasad said that right opportunities and proper guidance will pave the way for employment for the youth. He congratulated the selected candidates and emphasised that the fair had created opportunities across more than 100 job roles in the health and allied sectors, including nursing, pharmacists, technicians, general duty assistants, RMOs, and physiotherapists. He reiterated the govt’s commitment to youth empowerment under the Saat Nischay-3 initiative.Department secretary Kaushal Kishore described the event as a testament to the talent and potential of Bihar’s youth. He added that such employment fairs will continue as part of the govt’s target to generate 1-crore employment opportunities in the next five years.
