Nagpur: A 10-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Kanhan village on Nagpur’s outskirts on Tuesday afternoon. The girl’s mother too had ended her life six years ago, said police.As per preliminary police investigation, the girl’s father had shifted to Mumbai, leaving her under the care of her 24-year-old cousin sister. A Class 8 student, the girl was upset after being denied Rs15 by her sister to buy a cold drink. She then locked herself in a room and hanged self, said police. The girl’s uncle found her hanging after entering the room through the back door. He rushed her to a local hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival, said police.Kanhan police registered accidental death. Autopsy confirmed asphyxia due to hanging, with no signs of foul play so far.
