GURGAON: A 10-year-old boy who was found wandering alone near a CNG pump on Dwarka Road was safely reunited with his family after the Missing Person Cell (West) of Gurgaon Police traced his parents through sustained inquiries.Police said the child, identified as Sameer, was found in an abandoned condition near the CNG pump under the jurisdiction of Sector 9 police station on July 21. After receiving information, a police team reached the spot, took the boy into safe custody and began efforts to locate his family.The Missing Person Cell (West) carried out inquiries in the surrounding areas and continued the search until officers established contact with the child’s father, Sulendra Sahni, a native of Begusarai district in Bihar who is currently living in Dayanand Colony in Gurgaon.After completing the required legal formalities and verification, police handed the child over safely to his parents.“The family thanked the police team for reuniting them with their son”, Sandeep Turan, police spokesman said.Police appealed to parents and guardians to keep young children under constant supervision and advised that any child found wandering or reported missing should be brought to the attention of the nearest police station or by calling the emergency helpline 112 immediately.
