Mohali: Mohali police seized 10 unclaimed vehicles, registered two FIRs and detained several suspected drug users during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Amb Sahib Colony Saturday.Led by DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal, around 150 police personnel cordoned off the locality and carried out searches under the ongoing War Against Drugs campaign.Suspected drug addicts were taken to the Civil Hospital for dope tests, while those willing to undergo treatment were admitted to the Drug De-addiction Centre in Sector 66.DSP Bal said the operation was conducted on the directions of senior officers to crack down on anti-social elements and curb drug abuse. The search was carried out by multiple teams led by SHOs Aman Baidwan, Amandeep Singh Kamboj, Simar Shergill and Gurmehar Singh.Police said similar operations will continue in vulnerable areas to strengthen policing and check criminal activities. Residents were urged to share information on drug abuse and anti-social activities.
