Hyderabad: A 23-year-old private worker died and three others suffered injuries when a speeding bike rammed into a moped coming from the opposite direction at Moulali on Tuesday. Due to the high-speed crash, the moped caught fire and locals quickly doused the flames.According to Malkajgiri police, the deceased was Deshpak Shreyanth, 23, store in-charge at a Hyundai showroom in ECIL. At around 1.30 am on Tuesday, when Shreyanth was travelling on his bike with a colleague, Mahesh, from ECIL towards Moulali, their bike rammed into a moped coming from the opposite direction at Noor School near Moula Ali Kaman.
Shreyanth, Mahesh, and the two minors from Dammaiguda who were on the moped suffered injuries in the accident. “From the CCTV footage analysis, it was evident that Shreyanth drove in a rash and negligent manner. While trying to overtake a car at a high speed, he came to the right half of the road and rammed into the moped coming from the opposite direction,” Malkajgiri inspector B Satyanarayana said.All four injured were shifted to the hospital, and Shreyanth was declared brought dead. Police said the other victims were out of danger.A case was registered under Sections 125(a) and 106(1) of the BNS. Police said Shreyanth’s viscera samples were preserved for FSL analysis to check if he was under the influence of alcohol.
