Salman Khan attended a special event celebrating the career of veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, bringing together memories from some of Hindi cinema’s most successful comedy entertainers. The event revisited David Dhawan’s contribution to commercial cinema and highlighted his long-standing collaboration with Salman Khan. As reported by News 18, during his arrival at the venue, Salman shared a light-hearted moment with photographers. While posing for pictures, he was heard jokingly saying, “Ye jagah thik hai.”

One of the most talked-about moments from the event came when actor Varun Dhawan recalled a funny observation about his father following his repeated collaborations with Salman Khan. Speaking about the superstar’s influence, Varun joked that spending too much time around Salman could change a person.He said, “When you work with Salman Khan, you also change. Somewhere you start feeling that you are Salman Khan!” The audience responded with laughter as Varun continued the anecdote and described how his father’s confidence appeared to grow during that period. Recalling those memories, he added, “I remember my father walking bare-bodied a lot. There was another level of confidence in him.”

David Dhawan also took the opportunity to look back on his professional journey with Salman Khan. The filmmaker spoke fondly about the actor and praised his experience of working with him over the years. Reflecting on their association, he said, “What a guy to work with!” The filmmaker revealed that his first impressions of Salman during the making of Judwaa were not entirely accurate.According to David, Salman often appeared quiet and reserved on set, which initially led to a misunderstanding. He recalled, “I used to feel he’s disinterested. Lekin yeh meri galat fehmi thi. He was quite interested. But it took me a while to realise.”Over time, the director and actor developed a close friendship that extended well beyond their film collaborations. Remembering those moments, he said, “I used to sit with him in the evening and have drinks with him. At times, I used to wake him up and take him for the shoot! I used to open the cupboard and even take out his outfit.”While the event focused on past successes, both David Dhawan and Salman Khan are currently occupied with major upcoming projects. David Dhawan is gearing up for the release of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, featuring Varun Dhawan in the lead.Meanwhile, Salman Khan is preparing for his next big-screen outing, the war drama ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’. The project is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
