Gorakhpur: On the eve of Mahashivratri on Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi offered prayers at two prominent Shiva temples in Gorakhpur and performed rituals seeking peace and prosperity for all.Yogi visited Mahadev Jharkhandi temple and Mukteshwarnath temple on Saturday evening, where he carried out ‘dugdhabhishek’ (milk offering) and ‘jalabhishek’ (water offering) amid Vedic chants. Priests chanted mantras as Yogi offered belpatra, flowers and other ceremonial items to Lord Shiva.At Mahadev Jharkhandi shrine, Yogi participated in rituals with full Vedic rites and prayed for welfare of people and universal well-being. He later proceeded to Mukteshwarnath temple, where he again performed ‘abhishek’ with milk and water and performed puja and prayed for happiness in the lives of citizens. TNN
