Nagpur: In a show-of-force action, women police personnel from Nandanvan police station on Saturday evening paraded three men accused of attempting to murder a student.The accused were identified as Vaibhav Ashok Tannelwar (34) of Vrindavan Nagar, Sanket Gulabrao Wanjari (24), and Tushar Dilip Palaspure (25), both residents of EWS Kavelu Quarters.As per police, the trio attacked Navi Devendra Ramteke (21), a resident near Datta Mandir in Nandanvan, in November, stabbing him with a knife in an attempt to kill him. Police had registered offence, but the accused had been absconding for nearly three months.Acting under the guidance of deputy commissioner of police Rashmita Rao, senior police inspector Kailas Deshmane of Nandanvan police station and his team tracked down and arrested the accused on Thursday.To curb alleged criminal intimidation and send a strong message, Deshmane ordered a public parade of the trio. The parade was conducted around 6pm on Saturday by women police sub-inspector Pratiksha Patil, Savita Yadav, Alka Dhengre, Armila Tohne, Sheela Bisen, Rupali Bhumber, Kiran Gawai, Pratibha Ingole, Priyanka Dongre, Aarti Shukla, Kanchan Parihar, Sonali Thakre, along with other police personnel, across Nirmalnagar, Sadbhavana Nagar and parts of Nandanvan slum areas.
