Chikkamagaluru/Hassan: A woman sustained injuries after a wild elephant attacked her in a coffee plantation in Mudigere on Monday evening. Guruvamma was working in an estate in G Hosahalli when an elephant attacked her. However, she managed to escape but sustained injuries. Now, she is undergoing treatment in Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences in Hassan, and the doctors said she is out of danger.According to deputy conservator of forests Ramesh Babu, two elephants have separated from the herd and are roaming around Belur and caused problems to villagers. In another incident, a tusker damaged an autorickshaw in Hassan’s Belur taluk. The incident was reported from Kuppagodu village. Krishnappa parked his vehicle near his house, and the tusker charged it soon after crackers were burst to drive it away. However, no casualty has been reported, and the forest department personnel managed to drive the elephant back into the forest.
