Noida: The body of a 23-year-old woman was found on the service road in front of Gulshan Mall near the Noida Expressway on Monday morning. Police said teams have been formed to investigate, and cops suspect it to be a case of murder.Expressway police received information about the body through the emergency helpline 112 around 7.30am, and a team was sent to the spot. Cops cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation. The field unit and forensic team were also called in and collected evidence from the scene. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and a cause of death is yet to be determined, cops said.During the initial investigation, police discovered documents identifying the woman as Kavita Singh, a resident of Delhi. Cops said Singh is married and her family has been notified, adding that her husband is currently the prime suspect in the case.According to police, prima facie, no serious injuries were apparent on Singh’s body. Locals who were at the spot, however, disputed this and claimed that they had spotted several injuries on the body. Final confirmation will be possible only after the post-mortem report is received. Given that there were no obvious signs of struggle at the scene, police suspect that Singh was murdered elsewhere and then dumped at the spot.Three special police teams were formed to investigate. One team is examining footage from CCTV cameras installed around the scene, while another team is identifying vehicles passing through that route between 7pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday. Toll plaza and traffic cameras are also being used to identify any suspicious vehicles, police added. The body’s discovery caused a stir in the area, with a crowd gathering at the scene and disrupting traffic for a considerable period. Police also appealed to residents to immediately report any suspicious activity or vehicle they may have witnessed around Gulshan Mall between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
