Amritsar: The body of a woman was found in a hotel near DaK Khana Chowk, close to the Golden Temple, here on Tuesday.According to information, the body was recovered from the guest house. The deceased has been identified as Monika, a resident of Guru Nanak Pura. Preliminary reports suggest that she was staying alone in the hotel.The police reached the spot and initiated inquest proceedings. According to the police, the exact cause of the woman’s death was yet to be ascertained. Hotel staff and people in the vicinity are being questioned. Initial investigation has not revealed any signs of violence, but the forensic team has secured necessary evidence from the scene, said the police.After identification, the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
