Chennai: A woman and her daughter died while her four-year-old granddaughter escaped unhurt when their motorcycle crashed into a lorry parked along Chennai-Kolkata highway on Saturday.Jayaprasanthini, 43, a resident of the Sri Lankan Tamil Rehabilitation Camp in Gummidipoondi, was riding the bike with her mother Rajakumari, 63, and daughter Raghavarshini, 4, on the pillion, to a private hospital at Janapachatram with food for her father, who is undergoing treatment there.Jayaprasanthini and Rajakumari died on the spot. Police sent their bodies to Ponneri GH for postmortem.Locals said such accidents occur frequently in the Gummidipoondi SIPCOT area because heavy vehicles are often parked haphazardly along the highway. Gummidipoondi SIPCOT police have registered a case and are investigating. TNN
