Mangaluru: Medical education minister Sharan Prakash Rudrappa Patil said that he would not involve himself in matters unrelated to him. He was reacting to queries from journalists regarding public works minister Satish Jarkiholi’s statement on the “commission in govt contracts” on Friday.“I am not aware of this issue. These discussions do not benefit the public. There are parties for political matters. I am not the KPCC president. They will address party issues. I will focus on my assigned responsibilities,” Patil said.
In response to a question about the discussion on the change of chief minister in the state, he said, “I have my own share of responsibilities. Every word we speak should be in the public interest. Our actions should be in the public interest. Therefore, I will speak words that are beneficial to the people. There is no benefit to the public from this.”Regarding the incident in Kalaburagi where an assistant professor was attacked for questioning and preventing cheating in an exam, the minister stated that action will be taken in this regard. “Some unruly students behave this way, and the govt will take strict action against them,” he stated.
