Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has said the pink party would expose the Congress govt’s betrayal of farmers and the people of the state.Speaking after he along with party MLAs and MLCs paid tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial at Gun Park before the assembly session on Monday, the BRS leader said the Congress govt deceived every section of society. He said BRS would question the govt during the assembly session on why it was prioritising political expenditure while neglecting farmers. “This is why we are raising the slogan – ‘Not Rahul Bandhu, give Rythu Bandhu; 1,000 crore for Rahul, but a betrayal for farmers,'” he added. He strongly criticised the govt’s alleged plan to allocate 1,000 crore to Rahul Gandhi while neglecting farmers in the state. The Sircilla MLA said Congress promised to implement the six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power and declared that legal status would be granted to these guarantees in the very first cabinet meeting after assuming office. However, he said that even after two and a half years in power, the govt failed to provide legal backing to the six guarantees. He recalled that during the first governor’s address after the Congress govt came to power, the state govt had announced that legal status would be granted to the six guarantees. The chief minister approved the speech, and the then governor Tamilisai Soundararajan conveyed it in the assembly. Despite this, he said, the govt failed to fulfil its commitment even after multiple assembly sessions.KTR criticised the govt for failing to implement key welfare schemes for farmers. He said that during the BRS govt regime, Rythu Bandhu funds used to be credited to farmers before the sowing season. In contrast, he said, farmers were now completing harvest without receiving any support from the govt, and there was no clarity from the state on when the assistance would be released.
