Speaking on his statement that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj should be taught in schools, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on July 22 said that he accepted that the rest of the dynasties have never been given the recognition they deserve. “Dhankhar ji is a man of great integrity, intellect, ability, and his legal acumen is brilliant, and a man of high political acumen, political wisdom. We have to see it from the right perspective; there is no need to look at it from another perspective, which the Congress is looking at,” said Pawan Kalyan. “…I think what Election Commission did is right thing. There is nothing to debate and suspect about it,” said he added. “…You talk so highly about Akbar. You glorify an invader like Babur. But why were we not taught about Vijayanagara? The main thing was how Chhatrapati Shivaji came to the rescue of Tamil Nadu temples. How come that was not told? I accept that the rest of the dynasties have never been given the recognition they deserve. I think we have the right to know about it…,” he added.
