Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday alleged that names of the Matua and minority communities have been particularly deleted from the electoral rolls, post SIR.
“Why this discrimination? You are excluding Matuas, Rajbanshis and minorities. the CM said, while addressing a rally at Chakdaha in Nadia district. She also addressed a rally in North 24 Parganas district, both Matua dominated. Banerjee alleged that names were being removed from voter rolls by targeting specific communities. She claimed that Trinamool will stand by the people whose names have been excluded from the electoral rolls.
She also claimed that in districts with significant minority population such as Murshidabad, Malda and North Dinajpur, names have been removed from the electoral rolls.
