Mysuru: Continuing the momentum generated since its launch on Feb 12, Vision Mysuru–2050 — a student-driven civic initiative of the SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) — entered a key new phase on Saturday with the commencement of the idea evaluation process at the institute’s campus.Sunil MV, assistant professor at SDMIMD, said Vision Mysuru-2050 was conceived as a platform to transform local observations, citizen insights, and creative proposals into structured, evidence-based recommendations that can be evaluated, refined, and integrated into a practical roadmap for Mysuru’s future development. He said the initiative has received an encouraging response from students, citizens, professionals, institutions, and stakeholders across sectors. The organising team received over 300 ideas and proposals focused on Mysuru’s development. After an initial review, 172 ideas were shortlisted for presentation before a jury panel as part of the ongoing evaluation process. As the initiative progresses, the top five shortlisted ideas will advance to the Grand Finale on March 23. At the finale, teams will present their proposals before district authorities and experts, who will select the top three winning ideas under Vision Mysuru–2050.The winning teams will also get the opportunity to present their proposals before senior govt officials, industry leaders, and academic heads.
