Chennai: elecom operator Vi will invest about 10% (Rs 4,500 crore) in Tamil Nadu out of its total planned investment of Rs 45,000 crore in the country over the next three years. This comes as the company expands its 5G services.Sai Venkataraman, circle business head-Tamil Nadu, Vi, said the company has rolled out 5G services in Chennai. “We will be bringing more cities, including Coimbatore, Vellore and Puducherry, under our 5G network by the end of next month. Over three years, we will be adding 3,000 sites as part of efforts to enhance infrastructure across the state,” he said.Noting that the Vi Tamil Nadu circle has a subscriber base of more than 1.4 crore and has become a priority state for the company, he added, “We will be investing approximately 10% of the Rs 45,000 crore investment in the next three years.”
