Mapusa: A tragedy was averted on Monday evening after a vacant house in Karaswada, near Vrundavan Hospital, was gutted in a fire. The blaze caused extensive damage to the structure, although no casualties were reported.The blaze prompted an immediate response from locals. Neighbours acted swiftly, using domestic water supplies to douse the flames, preventing them from spreading to adjacent residences before the fire tenders arrived.The fire was reported to the Mapusa fire station, and a team arrived shortly after to extinguish the fire and secure the area. While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials are conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
