Prayagraj: To enhance skill development and employability, the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) and Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement paves the way for a collaborative initiative to design job-oriented courses and provide career counselling for students after passing their intermediate examinations.The MoU was signed in the presence of UPRTOU vice- chancellor prof Satyakum, University Registrar Colonel Vinay Kumar, and UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh. Under this collaboration, the UPRTOU will develop specialised courses tailored to the interests and employment needs of intermediate passed students. The open university will also offer subject selection counselling to help students make informed career choices. This initiative will be carried out with the support of all 12 regional centres of UPRTOU and its affiliated study centres across the state.Prof Satyakum emphasised that this partnership will open new career avenues for students and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in a competitive job market. He added that the university will not only guide students in choosing appropriate subjects but will also focus on practical skill development to enhance employability. Secretary, UP Board Bhagwati Singh highlighted that the objective of the MoU is to promote educational and professional opportunities for students. He mentioned that the UP Board will share detailed student data with the open university to facilitate targeted outreach. Students will receive information about new courses, career counselling programs, and admission guidance through emails and SMS alerts.The signing ceremony was also attended by UP Board additional secretary Satendra Kumar, prof Sanjay Singh, and UPRTOU finance officer Poonam Mishra.
