Lucknow: BJP is planning to push its entire organisational strength for putting up a massive show of strength during the rally of Narendra Modi at the inauguration of Noida International Airport on March 28.BJP sources said in a meeting held in Bulandshahr on Tuesday, UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary and state general secretary (organisation) Dharam Pal Singh asked party MLAs from at least six districts – Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Hathras, Hapur and Mathura — around GB Nagar to pool in their resources to bring in as many party supporters as possible at the rally venue.Besides, the district, division and booth-level functionaries have been alerted to ratchet up public support, even as Modi dedicates the airport to the people at a grand ceremony. The party aims to gather at least two lakh supporters on the occasion. The development comes just two days after chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited Noida and supervised the preparations for the inauguration of the airport – India’s largest (once fully operational), besides proving to be a major aviation hub for western UP and the National Capital Region. This will be the second major project after the Delhi-Meerut RRTS (Namo Bharat Corridor) and Meerut Metro, which were inaugurated by PM Modi on Feb 22.BJP sources said the aim of holding rallies during the inauguration of big projects is to convert these milestones into a symbol of delivery in various regions – in this case, west UP.Analysts said that large infrastructure projects have consistently been used by the BJP to reinforce its governance narrative. The Noida airport, once completed, too, fits into this template.UP BJP chief urged all party workers to make the programme a “historic success”. “This event is not merely an inauguration, but rather the dawn of a new era of development in UP,” he said.Chaudhary said that the airport marks a step in the direction of achieving the goal of a developed India.A senior UP BJP functionary said that by engaging MLAs and local units in Aligarh, Mathura, Ghaziabad and nearby districts, the party is testing its grassroots machinery, reinforcing cadre discipline and responsiveness, and creating a visible “wave effect” through sheer crowd size.
