Pune:The Bund Garden police are searching for an unidentified man who allegedly damaged a portion of the compound wall at the Railway Protection Force‘s (RPF) National Police Dog Training Centre in a suspected encroachment attempt.The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at the facility located on Private Road, near the Pune railway station. A formal complaint was lodged by RPF inspector Prabhakar Tiwari (54) on Saturday evening.Senior inspector Santosh Pandhare of Bund Garden police told reporters, “The suspect broke a section of the compound wall and removed several tin sheets. Despite knowing that the land and premises belong to the Central govt, he attempted to encroach upon the property. After damaging the structure and roaming the premises for a few hours, the suspect fled.”Police suspect that the individual intended to illegally occupy the land for personal gain. The National Dog Training Centre is currently under development and has not yet commenced operations. Railway authorities are in the process of constructing dog kennels on the site. Once functional, the facility will train canines to enhance safety and security across railway platforms and trains.
