Buxar: Two youths were arrested after allegedly opening fire from a moving car near Sisaundha village under Dhansoi police station area in Buxar district on Thursday night, while a third accused managed to escape. Police recovered a loaded 9mm pistol and four empty shell casings from the spot.According to the police, the arrested youths have been identified as 19-year-old Shyam Kumar alias Laddoo Yadav, son of Birendra Yadav, and 20-year-old Golu Kumar, son of Arjun Singh, both residents of Sisaundha Tola.Buxar SDPO Gaurav Kumar Pandey, at a press conference on Friday, said that the police received a tip-off around 8pm on Thursday about some youths roaming in a Swift car and firing shots in the area. Acting on the information, Dhansoi SHO Vikas Kumar led a police team to the spot and attempted to intercept the vehicle.“Sensing police presence, the accused abandoned the car on the roadside and tried to flee. Two of them were nabbed during the chase, while the third escaped. A search of the abandoned vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded 9mm pistol, while four empty cartridges found nearby confirmed that shots had been fired,” the SDPO said.The SDPO further visited the police station to review the case. He said that the criminal antecedents of the arrested accused were being verified and raids were on to arrest the absconding accused. Police have also heightened vigil in the area and are closely monitoring suspicious activities following the incident.
