Ludhiana: While the admission process for the current academic session is underway in district government schools, two Schools of Eminence (SOEs) in Millerganj and Kidwai Nagar are still awaiting their official inauguration. Although the project was initiated in 2024, final completion and a formal opening remain pending despite the ongoing enrollment period for the upcoming term.Deputy district education officer (secondary) Amandeep Singh confirmed that construction and preparation for these SOEs are nearly finished. He stated that chief minister Bhagwant Mann is expected to perform the official inauguration ceremony soon. Regarding enrollment, Singh noted that entrance tests for these institutions were conducted recently. Once the opening is scheduled, the admission process will proceed in alignment with other SOEs.During an official inspection of the Millerganj SOE on February 4, authorities projected the site as a future model for infrastructural excellence. The facility features various sports and wellness amenities aimed at holistic development, including a terrace badminton court, an indoor table tennis area, and dedicated yoga and meditation spaces. The academic infrastructure, which was approved during the last inspection, includes spacious classrooms, a dedicated staff room, a principal’s office, seven laboratories, and other modern facilities.
