New Delhi: Two men were killed after large stones fell on them from a crane while they were asleep on a DDA land in Rohini on Friday. Police have arrested the crane driver, Rajgir Singh, in connection with the incident.According to police, the mishap occurred near a banquet hall in Sector 10. A PCR call alerted the police that two men were lying unconscious at the spot. On reaching the site, the victims were found critically injured and covered in blood. They were declared dead later.Crime and forensic teams were deployed, and a crane bearing a Haryana registration number was seized. The bodies, believed to be of men aged around 35 and 50, were sent to a hospital mortuary for postmortem, while efforts are on to establish their identities.Police suspect the victims were ragpickers who had been sleeping near a pit during debris removal work. A case has been registered.
