Chatra: Two inter-district drug peddlers were arrested with 10 gm of brown sugar near the Salga anganwadi centre on Saturday, police said.The officer in-charge of the Giddhaur police station limits, Shiva Yadav, said, “Acting on a tip-off about alleged sale of narcotics, a police team spotted two men standing near a motorcycle in a secluded field. They were detained and searched, leading to the recovery of 10 grams of brown sugar. A motorcycle and mobile phones were also seized from their possession.”The accused were identified as Rajat Raj (25) of Ramnagar mohalla under Sadar police station and Chhotan Kumar (20) of Vishnupuri under Katkamdag police station, both residents of Hazaribag district. A case was registered against them under the NDPS Act. The duo was produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.Probe and raids are under way to ascertain the source and network involved in the supply of the contraband, OC Yadav added.
