Salem: Two people were arrested for conducting sex determining tests of fetuses of three expectant mothers at Belur near Vazhapadi in the district on Tuesday. The accused – M Venkatesan, 44, of Chinnasalem in Kallakurichi district, and S Latha, of Vilaripalayam in Salem district – were caught from a residence at Belur by a medical team led by joint director of Salem district health services based on a tip-off. The accused were later handed over to the Vazhapadi police, who registered a case and arrested them.
