Surat: Two dolphins trapped in a shallow creek during low tide off the Dahej coast were rescued and released back into the sea by the crew of a motor launch vessel on Monday.The dolphins had entered a small creek along the shore but were unable to return to deeper waters after the tide receded. Crew members of the motor launch Al Haidari, which was operating near a private jetty at Dahej, spotted the stranded dolphins and initiated a rescue effort.The crew managed to secure the dolphins with ropes and guide them back towards deeper waters before releasing them safely into the sea.Workers present at the shore expressed relief and happiness after the dolphins swam back into the open sea. The rescue team had to wade through muddy terrain to reach the stranded animals and carry out the operation.Employees working on vessels at Dahej have in the past also remained vigilant about protecting marine life and the coastal environment, locals said.
