Chennai: Two final-year college students died in a road accident near Thirukazhukundram on East Coast Road (ECR) on Sunday morning. The deceased were identified as Balaji, 23, a resident of Perungudi and his friend, Karthik, 23, of Royapettah. Both were final-year BBA students at a private college in Thoraipakkam. According to police sources, the duo had set out on a motorcycle to visit a temple at Mugaiyur near Kalpakkam. When they were near Koovathur, a stray dog ran across the road, causing them to lose balance and fall onto the road. At that moment, a speeding car ran over the students, killing them on the spot. Koovathur police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent it for postmortem. TNN
