T’puram: Two brothers killed after their motorcycle lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch near S N Auditorium on Nagaroor Road in Kilimanoor on Monday morning. The deceased were Abhi (23) and Abhishek (20) natives of Pullail, near Kilimanoor. According to police, the accident occurred around 6am when the motorcycle they were travelling on hit an electric post before falling into the ditch along the road. Locals rushed to the spot and took the injured brothers to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. Police said the brothers were heading to KSRTC bus stand, Kilimanoor to drop Abhishek, who was scheduled to travel to Kottayam. Abhishek had been pursuing a German language course in Kottayam.Kilimanoor police have registered a case under the provisions of unnatural death. Preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding could have been the reason for the accident. Police officials said CCTV footage from nearby establishments is being collected to determine who was riding the motorcycle at the time of the accident and to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the crash. The bodies were shifted to Paripally MCH for autopsy. After completing the procedures, the bodies were handed over to the relatives.
