Agartala: A middle-aged man was arrested on Friday at Harishnagar Munda Para in the Kamalasagar area of Sepahijala district in Tripura for allegedly murdering his wife in front of their two children.The accused, identified as Laxminadhar Munda, is alleged to have killed his wife, Moni Munda, after a series of violent confrontations that began Thursday afternoon. Despite repeated attempts by neighbors to intervene, the abuse reportedly continued through the night.
By late evening, Laxminadhar allegedly struck Moni with a wooden object, inflicting fatal injuries in what witnesses described as a brutal and relentless attack.On Friday morning, neighbours discovered him sitting beside Moni’s lifeless body. The incident quickly spread shock and panic across the community. Bishalgarh Police Station officers arrived promptly and arrested the accused at the scene.Moni’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while police have taken Laxminadhar into custody. Neighbors and relatives revealed a history of domestic violence, citing previous incidents of abuse involving the suspect.
