Hyderabad: The commissioners of the Greater Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri municipal corporations have urged Swachh auto workers to play a decisive role in keeping the Tri-Corporation area clean and free from rubbish.At a joint meeting held on Friday at the GHMC head office, commissioners of GHMC, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri — R V Karnan, G Srujana, and T Vinay Krishna Reddy respectively — met with Swachh Auto drivers and sanitation workers, listened to their concerns, and promised to address them immediately and provide institutional support.The commissioners said that sanitation would be the main focus of the forthcoming 100-day action plan, and emphasised that there should be no visible rubbish on the roads or in residential areas within the CURE jurisdiction. They emphasised that achieving this target hinges on Swachh Autos carrying out 100% daily door-to-door garbage collection.To strengthen operations, one corporation sanitation worker will be assigned to each Swachh Auto. Mapping and close monitoring will be intensified in newly merged municipalities.Regarding welfare measures, the commissioners promised accident insurance and ex gratia support in case of mishaps, as well as job security. In turn, Swachh Auto workers assured full cooperation and confirmed their commitment to achieving 100% daily door-to-door waste collection.
