Hazaribag: The driver of a tractor was arrested and sent to jail on Monday after his sand-laden vehicle killed an eight-year-old boy in Barkatha on Sunday night.The deceased Ankush Kumar was playing outside his home in Gaida village when the sand-laden tractor which was barrelling down the road struck him. The driver Ganesh Kumar tried to flee, but was caught by villagers and handed him over to the police. Ankush was killed on the spot.Ganesh was arrested after Ankush’s mother Ritu Devi filed an FIR against him and Bittu Mandal, the owner of the vehicle, at Barkatha police station. Ganesh and Bittu are residents of of Barwan village in Barkatha block.“The body was handed over to the parents on Monday afternoon after postmortem examination,” Pankaj Kumar Sinduria, the officer-in-charge of Barkatha police station, said.
