Gurgaon: Told to slow down their car in a residential lane, a group of unidentified men allegedly assaulted a caretaker and his relative with helmets and sticks in Sector 42. The incident took place around 4.30pm on March 4.Pramod Kumar (32), a native of Uttarakhand who works as a caretaker in Gurgaon, lodged a complaint at Sushant Lok 1 police station a day later, following which a case was registered on March 6. Kumar said the accused came in two cars — a white Scorpio and a blue-grey car. He produced video footage of the incident, an officer said.Kumar, who lives on the ground floor of a house, was at work when several men arrived in the cars carrying sticks. His relative Nabil Lal, who lives in a house close by in Sushant Lok 1, asked the occupants of the vehicles to drive slowly in the lane.“Following this, the men turned their car around, got out of the vehicles and began assaulting Lal with helmets,” the complainant alleged. When Kumar tried to intervene and stop the attackers, they started beating him too. The accused pushed his wife, sister and young children and entered the house during the incident. The group threatened to “harm” the entire family and misbehaved with a woman residing on the second floor of the building.Police said Lal was taken to a govt hospital in Sector 10, where doctors conducted a medical examination and issued a medico-legal report. “We are checking the CCTV footage and the video,” the officer said, adding the case was filed under sections 191(2) (rioting), 190 (unlawful assembly), 115(2) (voluntary causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 333 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the BNS.
