New Delhi: A statue of Tamil poet and saint Thiruvalluvar has been installed at JNU, with the university receiving Rs 65 lakh in financial support from Tamil Nadu govt for the installation. The statue has been erected opposite the university’s convention centre and is yet to be officially inaugurated. The seven-foot-tall statue, weighing around 1,000 kg, was transported from Tamil Nadu, officials said. A wall behind the statue carries a couplet from the Thirukkural that reads, “To discern the truth in everything, by whomsoever spoken, is wisdom.” TNN
