Nagpur: Three trucks parked near Ambuja godown at Automotive Chowk on Kamptee Road were gutted after a fire broke out early on Wednesday morning. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. According to information received, the blaze started around 6am and quickly spread to the trucks parked in the area. The vehicles destroyed in the fire include a truck (MP-22-H-7221) owned by Ashiq Khan Qureshi, a resident of Kamgar Nagar on Nari Road; truck (MH-40-CD-2012) belonging to Rajaram Yadav of Suvarna Nagar on Nari Road; and another truck (MH-40-809) owned by Sunil Bachle, a resident of Masala Toli in Kamptee.The fire caused extensive damage, reducing the chassis, cabins, tyres and other parts of all three trucks to ashes. Losses running into several lakh rupees are suspected, though the exact amount is yet to be assessed.After Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s control room alerted Sugat Nagar fire station, a team led by officer-in-charge Sunil Dokre rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further.Kapil Nagar police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
