Jaisalmer: Three people were arrested Monday after a video showing a man washing idols of the Bhojasariya Mata temple with his feet went in viral. The incident occurred in Bhojsar village under Sadar police station area in Jaisalmer district.In the footage, one person is seen washing the idols with his feet, while another records the act and uploads it on Instagram. A third person is also present in the video. Villagers said the act hurt religious sentiments and demanded immediate action. They said such incidents could disturb social harmony.Acting on the directions of SP Abhishek Shivhare, a team was formed with Sadar station officer Vinay Joshi, constable Anopsingh, and ASI Chooka Kumari who arrested the three accused.Police have identified the person washing the idols with his feet as Babunath (68), a resident of Lanela village.A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
