Chennai: Anti-narcotics intelligence unit (ANIU) officers arrested three men and seized 25g of methamphetamine during a raid on 100 Feet Road at Choolaimedu on Tuesday. The suspects were identified as Mujibur Rahman, 32, of Pattabiram, Vijay, 28, of Choolaimedu, and Veerappan, 30, of Choolaimedu. The trio was produced before a magistrate court in the city and remanded in judicial custody.Acting on a tip-off regarding the distribution of synthetic drugs, the ANIU team spotted the trio behaving suspiciously near a commercial establishment. On conducting a search, they recovered the contraband, packed in small sachets for retail sale. Investigations suggest the group acted as mid-level distributors, sourcing the drug from inter-state networks.
