Hyderabad: An interstate racket allegedly involved in producing mephedrone and MDMA drugs by illegally accessing its precursors from various parts of the country was busted at Chegunta in Medak district. On the pretext of operating a road-side dhaba in Medak, the drug peddlers operated a drug network from the location.Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) sleuths of Telangana police along with local police on Friday nabbed Veerender Swamy and Manish Bishnoi in Rajasthan while they were transporting drugs manufactured in Telangana. Based on the information given by EAGLE, police caught their accomplices Manoj Kumar Mathur from Agra in Uttar Pradesh the same day, as they were involved in manufacturing mephedrone and supplied it to drug peddlers. Manoj also shared knowledge of manufacturing the synthetic drug with other accused.Through different e-commerce websites, the precursors, including needed chemicals, were bought legally by the members of the gang by sharing fake company details.“The members of the racket gave fake billing addresses in Karnataka and Delhi. The material was collected by the accused at Chitradurg (Karnataka) and brought to Shadnagar, where they manufactured mephedrone. When police made further enquiries, it came to light that two years ago Manish, along with Sumeeth, started ‘Jodhpur Dhaba’ in Chegunta of Medak district. When Veerender came to Hyderabad, he stayed at the dhaba along with Sishupal, Raju, and other accused,” police said.Police said that the drugs were transported in two different vehicles by the accused. On learning that the vehicles were moving in Rajasthan, EAGLE sleuths with the support of Rajasthan police caught one vehicle and seized it. Police said that after nabbing Manoj, 10 kg of MDMA was seized. On the other hand, police seized 17 kg of mephedrone after nabbing Veerender and Manish, . In the missing vehicle, police said they had information that there were 13 kg of mephedrone.EAGLE sleuths said that they were yet to visit the place in Shadnagar, where the drug was manufactured. The panchanama of the place would be done after taking the accused into custody from Rajasthan police. In Agra, a huge quantity of material was seized based on the information given by Manoj. EAGLE sleuths registered a separate case for operating a drug manufacturing unit in Shadnagar.
